The SD Reader, good fun.
Lots of interesting things from reviews, to personals, to audition info, to even job listings.
Pretty much spent the latter part of my evening browsing the help wanted section.
So many jobs... so many limitations.
Alot of 'em are interesting.
Like working at one of the many cemeteries in SD county. Or Sea World's call to arms for performers for their lil' Halloween thingy. Or becoming a probation officer. Than there's always telemarketing.
Lot of people think I'd do very well as a telemarketer. (Scented candles!!! =P) Can't figure out where I got my knack for making cash. I just remember always having "buisiness ventures" growing up. But, in a post that I'm tryin' to keep discussin' 'bout the same general thing, I'm side-tracking.
Advantage of bein' under the Cal Vet tuition fee waiver thingy: not havin' to pay tuition.
Disadvantage of bein' under the Cal Vet tuition fee waiver thingy: Having to watch how much $$$ I bring in yearly. If I make more than the poverty level (currently somewhere near 9k) than there's a strong chance that I won't get approved for a fee waiver the next academic year.
*Sigh*
I could be making so much cash though. Around $8 per hr. starting pay + commission. But that small possibility of not making bank (i.e. enough to cover tuition an' still enjoy life), always waver in the back of my head.
So for two years I've been tellin' myself that the job I'm lookin' for has hrs. an' above minimum wage.
Just realized how picky I am.
That theory was given to me by my big sis. It's a nice theory that actually applies itself well to me. In short, contrary to popular belief, I'm not THAT lazy.
I may not be employed next week, but there's a strong possibility that I'll be ending my 2-3 yr. acting hiatus by jumping back into the theatre.
I've really missed it. Performing was always a nice release for me, should help make my life better by gettin' involved again.
"The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [abridged]"
A very comical, lovely play that you should go see.
Like right now.
As in stop sittin' in front of your comp reading this post an' watch it be performed now. Or you can tell me to "break a leg", have the acting gods smile upon me, grant me a spot in it's production, than watch me opening night an' many performances afterwards.
2-3 yrs. Hope I don't have too much rust. Usually when I drop a hobby for an extended period of time, I completely forget how to do it. Playing piano and/or guitar are completely lost to me at the moment. So are my art skills by my standards.
Happy 4th of July everyone.
May your day be filled w/ good grub, good fun, good memories, an' good fireworks show(s).
